The Gurn understands that FilmG (Farpais airson filmichean goirid anns a GhĂ idhlig/The Gaelic short film compeition) hopes to come to Nairn some time during the Ballerina Festival. There are quite a few prizes for the eventual winners of the FilmG competition, up to £30,000 on offer. They want entries up to five minutes long but will also consider efforts done on the like of mobile phones of up to 60 seconds. Only one snag, you don't have to have Gaelic yourself but the end product does. Here's FilmG's Gaelic site and here's the Facebook site which has information in English.
We'll let you know when and if FilmG confirm their visit. If you need a bit of Gaelic for your films or your mobile phone entries the Editor of the Gurn might be willing to help for the price of the odd bag of fairy cakes that will secure entry to the Ballerina.
