AyeRight goes Woolies cold turkey...
'I experienced my first no Woolies shopping day today. I needed something electrical and would have normally steered myself past the DVDs, the electrical counter on the left (no-one ever serving there), through the gardening shelves, viewed the really useful thing I did’t need on the back shelf (Being shown on a looped DVD), glide through kitchen things, and there I would be. I might even have bought a bargain item I didn’t require and have been given an extra large bag at the check out, a younger staff member would have said ‘have a nice day’ as I left the store... back to the Woolie-less-high-street. I enter the electrical shop, ask for what I require which is duly retrieved from the depths, I pay and leave.I have just entered a very different shopping era and I’m not sure I like it very much'
Sad indeed Ayeright, there is still some activity in the former woolies building as the remaining shelves are dismantled. The Gurnmeister witnessed a skip being filled too. We need a few more dreams on our High Street but the Ballerina down the road looks just as forlorn too...
