As we all know that the Nairn bypass is not a new topic. Twenty years ago the question was asked and recorded in Hansard.
It seems back then Nairn was regarded as the end of the line for road traffic ‘Nairn is predominantly an end destination and the volume of through traffic on the A96 is insufficient to justify provision of a bypass’.
We did however get a new railway bridge to help matters, so maybe this time around the Baily Bridge might enjoy some repair work if the bypass application fails?
