Lights out

Traffic lights at the junction of the A96 and Lochloy Road have been completely out of action for most of the day. Our resident Traffic Warden has been doing his best to keep the traffic flowing, but long delays built up at several points during the day.
Lights at this junction seems to have a disproportionate amount of problems leading to severe traffic hold ups

For the last 3 days now, the traffic in Nairn about 12pm has been appalling. It took me 15 minutes to get from Leopold Street to the A96 road bridge over the river. This is not a holiday time so goodness knows how bad it will be in a few weeks time. The lights at Lochloy are set wrongly and give priority to Lochloy traffic instead of A96. A bypass is urgently needed - meanwhile the Little Kildrummie single track road is being used as the Nairn bypass and is a deadly hazard to farmers and anglers.

I thought anglers fished in the river, not on the roads.

That's odd. In all my experience, when lights are out of action and we're free to use commonsense and common courtesy, congestion vanishes into thin air ..?
