Taxi!

The Gurn sometimes hears complaints with regard to excessive spending by our council officials when it comes to their expenses, although as far as we know this has yet to reach the excesses of some folk in Westminster.
It is perhaps heartening to learn that in Aberdeen the Provost has chosen a Skoda as the official new vehicle. The car has never recovered in some quarters from the appalling reputation it held in the 1970’s complete with a long list of jokes. Q: What do you call a skoda driver who say's he has a speeding ticket ?

We are not aware of our own Provost having access to a chauffeur driven official vehicle, and in Inverness we should be grateful that the Provost Jimmy Gray gets a taxi when he needs to be driven somewhere, which surely even beats a Skoda for cost!
