The planning hearing will be open to members of the public but only objectors will be allowed to speak (and then only those that have informed the council that they wish to). This is a hearing for outline permission only but it is very important for the future of our town. It is about how our town will be allowed to grow. A lot of people are unhappy with this proposed development, mainly because of the proposed density of houses. There can be few people that are against development per se on Sandown, it just seems that the majority want the town to grow in a balanced way. Nairn is a great place, let's not mess it up. Development yes, but let's get it right - the people of Nairn will have to live with the results.
Soon it will be the time to show our elected representatives that we care about the future of Nairn by turning up at the planning hearing to offer our support to the objectors.
It is too late now for anyone to officially object but you can still contact your local councillors to inform them of your views.
