Watch your suspension on the Town Bridge
The bad weather has meant that the pothole on the A96 bridge (to be seen on the way into town) has grown considerably. There are a few smaller ones too on the same side of the road closer to the turn off for Maggot Road.

There's worse on the A96 on the way in from Inverness, near Tradespark Woods.
i posted on this a few days ago. its not only this one. more all through the town and both sides of the road at the hardmuir. i am sure their will be more when the snow clears. watch out for them as a lot of them are deep and could do a fair bit of dammage.
Inevitable that older road surfaces will break up, I suppose. But that stretch across the road-bridge was only re-laid recently. If I were the Council, or BEAR Scotland, I'd be looking for money back, or free resurfacing, from the contractor who did the job!
The roads over here in Canada are in a horrific state. The problem is usually in poor prep work before paving over old surfaces. Water and sand between the asphalt expands and contracts with the changes in temperature causing the top layer to crack and generally fall apart. The second cause is rocks being heaved up through the ground with the frost.
Good luck with all this weather you are dealing with right now. Im predicting that come spring you will see a huge amount of road work being done...maybe natures making some jobs for Nairn?
In Response to Mal Function teh road is garenteed for a certain length of time although i cannot recall exactly how long.
