Juvenile (Shag or Cormorant?) in the harbour area
This young creature was not at all bothered by people nearby earlier this evening, the bird seemed fit and alert and spent some time preening itself to the delight of onlookers. Picture will enlarge andmore pictures here.
Looks like a juvenile Shag according to the RSPB book profiles.
ReplyDeletenice shot i see it has tag on its leg. not sure what the bird is but i am sure the nairn birder will know.
ReplyDeleteIt's a juvenile Cormorant. The yellowing of the bill below the eye is the distinctive feature.
