Isla in the Courier - Difficulties for newly qualified nurses in Scotland

Isla tells the Courier how hard it is for newly qualified nurses to find a job - 'A scandal for Inverness and a scandal for Scotland,' says one of her colleagues and Isla is quoted:

' “In the first year of my course I was told that job prospects were bad, in the second year things were worse and it just went downhill from there and in my third year I decided I needed to get a job,” she said

“That is Highland-wide.”

Financial help from Mrs Carnochan’s family allowed her to open the salon but she said it had been a difficult time because nursing had been her dream. '
