One of the easiest ways to do something to help reduce landfill is to use a compost bin for kitchen and garden waste. Of course many Gurnites already do and have been doing so for years and enjoying enhanced soil fertility as a result. It seems that recent campaigns to encourage others in the Highlands have been a great success however, with 27,000 compost bins have been distributed to households in the Highlands.
