The Gurn understands that in addition to the information in the Nairnshire Michael is taking part in the Strictly Inverness competition, a charity fund-raising idea he came up with himself and that now raises substantial funds annually for the Highland Hospice and the Ice Centre.
This observer was delighted to read in the Nairnshire that Michael sees “regaining local control of the Common Good Fund” as one of the challenges facing Nairnshire. Hopefully this issue will go to the centre of the forthcoming election campaign and it will be interesting to hear if any of the other prospective candidates or sitting councillors who are standing again have any thoughts on restoring the Common Good to the control of the community.
"and confirmation was had-- "
ReplyDeleteA highly dubious grammatical construction which reads very clumsily.
"It was confirmed --" might have read more easily ?

He's got my vote.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a "prominant local buisness man"
ReplyDeleteI was busy with the buisness, never had time to see my family grow up let alone Council service duties - good luck there..!
Another opportunity for P.Edantic there anon.

ReplyDeleteI'm voting for him too
ReplyDeleteCan we just vote here on the Gurn now then? If so please put me down for Liz and Colin
ReplyDeleteYes but it will be choices 3&4 that will be the interesting ones when it comes to the ballot paper. For the majority in Nairnshire this observer imagines it will be SNP 1&2 so no bother there
ReplyDeleteWill i need lessons in learning how to vote? i get confused at the best of times.
