During the school summer holidays in the years 1934 to 1935 I caddied on tne west Golfcourse.
One morning I. together with a man with the name Cameron who lived in Simpson Street was walking along the Prom in the direction of the Golfcourse.
As we approached the rise leading up to Seabank Road we heard a loud noise. It is difficult to describe it but it was not unlike a piece of cotton material being ripped except that it was much greater than that would be.
At the same instant that the noise occurred a small hole appeared in the tarmac some fifteen feet ahead of us. The daimeter was no greater than that of a table tennis ball.
Was this happening caused by a very tiny meteorite and could tit have happened again on the Prom?
