Laurie the surprise there to this observer anyway, but that's the make up of Nairn's representation on Highland Council. Congratulations to the successful candidates. Here's the official result on the Highland Council site. It'll be interesting to see the breakdown of where 2nd, 3rd and 4th preferences went when that is eventually published.
A 43% turnout, down drastically from the 58% in 2007.
Next question is: Who would the voters of Gurnshire like to see as the next provost? - Poll in the sidebar.

Is this a scientific result then?
I think Laurie has the 'offline' vote, therefore his supporters would not necessarily be followers of this fine blog. Laurie, in my view is the mature voters choice. After all, how many shops would deliver and fit a kitchen appliance on the day of purchase for no extra cost.
I hope Liz is appointed Provost though!
Well done Michael, you have our support
Is there a "Liz for Provost again" facebook group yet?
Full results are now available. Rather worrying the amount of people who didn't understand how to vote.
