Two helicopters reported in the skies above Nairn over the past two hours (22.51 at time of posting). There seems to be increased police activity in the town too. Three police vehicles were seen coming into town on the Grantown Road. A helicopter has been concentrating on the area between Househill and the riverside more recently. All quiet now however. Facebook and twitter alive with various theories.

ReplyDeleteWe rely heavily on all our usual unreliable sources for such events.
ReplyDeletePolice have been out at the househill area since at least 6:30 tonight, no idea what is going on. Where is Donald "scoop" Wilson when you need him?
ReplyDeleteive heard 6 theories now, ill be glad to finally find out the real reason soon....
ReplyDeleteits just a shame there wasn't the same response in Nairn 8 years to the very day, maybe they'd have caught the person who shot Alistair Wilson & his family could have closure
ReplyDeleteFrom Northern Constabulary website: Police are carrying out searches in the Nairn area for a man in connection with an alleged disturbance in the Granny Barbour Road area to the east of Nairn. No one was injured however police are anxious to trace the man who is described as in his 20's, wearing shorts and a t-shirt and no footwear.
ReplyDeleteWhatever's been going on the helicopter pilots have done a great job, flying about in the dark and hovering in one place for long periods. Skilful job, respect, peeps.

ReplyDeleteWhat is more important, finding someone who good be dangerous or letting your kids and animals sleep. Get a life mate.

ReplyDeleteBetter not say things like that but thanks for the contribution
Up in Nairn for the weekend, was woken at 3am with a helicopter hovering over the area for about an hour. If the noise was coming from a house, police would hv been called. Tried day today thanks for that.
