The Press and Journal today takes a sensationalist view of some Nairn parents' concerns over the Challenger bus presently doing a tour of Nairn schools and uses the emotive word "brainwashing". We posted an article on local parental concerns on Thursday night: "Some parents sensibilities challenged by "Challenger Bus" ?" There certainly was a good deal of anxiety expressed out there on the social media and quite a lot of interesting comment that some Gurnites might have seen on Facebook in the passing. This observer would also expect the debate to be aired in the Leopold Street Thunderer on Tuesday.
No mention in the article of Liz's intervention in promptly taking up the parents' concerns with the Director of Education at Highland Council. There's comment from local parents Robert Holder, Samantha Eccles and also the co-ordinator of the Challenger project Neil Body. A Highland Council spokesman also comments and states that head teachers have examined the materials concerned and are satisfied that the activities during the school day are appropriate. More in the Press and Journal.
