The Moray & Nairn Family History
Society would like to announce its latest publication – Monumental Inscriptions
from Auldearn Church which is a transcription of the gravestones from the
churchyard as well as from the Victorian and later extensions. They note in
detail the complete inscription from each stone. Over 700 gravestones were
recorded by members of the Moray & Nairn Family History Society between
2011 and 2012 with a plan being made of each stone’s location and an index of
surnames. The publication of this work was aided by a donation from Nairn
Rotary Club. This work by the Moray & Nairn Family History Society follows
on from the completion of the monumental inscriptions from the churchyard at
Ardclach conducted in 2010.
