Contractors now on site and cleaning up the interior. Just behind the cabin several very large bags of pigeon poo could be seen. The Gurn understands that more than fifty bags have now been filled and more bags are on their way. Several seagulls could be seen sitting in their normal positions on the roof enjoying the sunshine. Soon they could all be homeless.
Van lettering suggests that they might knock it down and plant some oak trees. That'll keep a few folk happy!
ReplyDeletenot before time too,15 years its taken to get permission to flatten it and put something in its place,
ReplyDeletea bloody disgrace
narook
Grim. I don't envy them that job at all!
ReplyDeleteIt was pretty horrific in there a few years back when we had ramps set up inside, I can only imagine how much worse it got.
Will be nice to come visit Nairn someday and not see the eyesores that are the old bussy and the Regal.
all we need now is old regal and old church flattened and then we will have a much better entrance to nairn, but i cant see that happening in the next 25 years,
ReplyDeletenarook.
Get Dick and his Allotmenters in there. They will clear it for nothing and make good use of the guano
ReplyDeleteNarook, I don't think it's taken 15 years to get permission, more like it's taken 15 years for developers to get their act together?
ReplyDeleteok .i stand corrected,but 15 years
ReplyDeletefor developers and planning still needs a severe kick in the ing gang goolies for the time its taken,if it was in thier back yard,this/these /eyesores would have been eradicated many years ago
narook.
good to see this eyesore is going to come down, one less for us to look at, and for those who vist our town, after all scotland is the place to vist and the better it looks for all of us. now all we need is more colour around the town.
ReplyDeleteNot entirely true anon it was the people with it in there backyard who raised the most noise to try and have the development stopped so they could have something to THEIR liking on the site and not housing for those who need it. BUT THEY HAVE HOUSES and reckon flats will be just another eyesore. So don't blame it on the developers for the delay
ReplyDeleteMy point is that it still took a long time for any developer to get moving with this.
