Frosty morning causes traffic mishap in the Fishertown

One of our regular readers told us: "the Car in picture slid on the icy road when driving along Society Street Fishertown at Links Place intersection around 11am today (Wednesday). It collided with a Post Office Street Safe."
The black ice that came down with the haar overnight was treacherous this morning and is still lying in some shaded ares of footpaths and roads in the town. Take care out there today. The temperature is now warming up causing small pieces of ice to fall from trees, a spectacular scene when caught in the sunlight. Will the slighty warmer weather save the rearranged fixture between Nairn County and Strathspey however? A pitch inspection is arranged for 13.00.

I feel for the driver having his personal business posted online, I prusume you aske the police/driver it was on to post this yeh?? Thought not! He might not wish to share the fact he has crashed his car!!!

Yes I too feel for the driver having personal business posted up. I once innocently took a picture of what I thought was a nice country scene but was told off by the subject for not asking permission first to take the picture of him and his animal. He was most put out and even wanted to charge me for taking the picture. Do the press ask permission to publish?

It's called a pouch box is the correct terminology for it.

I see the problem. His car seems to have de-materialised.

Thank you anon and anon, in view of your concerns we have altered the image so the car cannot be identified.
Plese drive with care today folks the frost is still out and about in shady spots.

It seems, reading the article, it was an accident which could have happened to anyone given the icy conditions. The article is warning people of the road conditions, nobody would have looked at the car if it hadn't been for anon 12.49.

What about the poor pouch box, it's the one that came off worse. Why hasn't its identity been hidden? Is it OK?

But I forgot Its NAIRN everyone needs to know everyones business!

@Fishertown resident - thanks for that comment. I understand your observations and point of view but one has to be fair in reporting incidents. The police are obviously involved and they will determine if speed was also a factor. If you were to contact me via e-mail I could perhaps use some material for an update.
