  7. Really? how many hair dressers/salons are in nairn now?! who ever approves these ideas should try using all their brain cells at once instead of lining them up single file.

For all the hairdressers, cafes, etc to survive someone must be using them. Surely it's better to have shops full of something than lying empty? It's not like all the hairdressers, cafes, etc are preventing other types of businesses coming into the town, is it?

"anyone know of any shops available to rent in nairn?"

Suggest they visit Nairn, wander along the High St and take a note of phone numbers from all the signs hung above most of our empty shops, oh and add Blockbusters and the model shop too. Wait a week and they could probably add a few more

These days people are increasingly getting most of their household needs - groceries, books, clothes and shoes, toys, electrical equipment, etc - online, which is why High Street suppliers of such goods are closing.

But until it's possible to get a virtual pint of beer, a cup of coffee or a cake online, and until there are cyber-hairdressers and online-beauticians, there will be a need for real people, real pubs and cafes, and real services on the High Street. Let 'em come!
