Many of Nairn's plotters have made trips to the Black Isle tattie 'roup' in recent years for a selection of various types of interesting potato. This observer's favourite is Pink Fir Apple and very tasty they are indeed. The Black Isle can be a fair trek on a busy Saturday however, so Gurnites who are thinking of planting tatties this spring and may want to try some different varieties may wish to consider an event a bit closer to home which is being held in Forres on the 8th of March.
