"A guide dog missing for more than a week may have been taken in by a member of the public.
Tess disappeared after a run with her owner, Fraser Stevenson, near the Old Cemetery in Nairn on July 23.
Guide Dogs Scotland (GDS) have appealed to anyone who may have seen the six-year- black curly haired retriever to come forward.
GDS spokesman, Niall Foley, said: “Our priority is to find Tess and reunite her with her owner
“We believe she is with someone, who may have taken her in for safe keeping, with the best of intentions." More on the STV site here.

This is a very good time to remind folk to keep their dogs in sight when they are off the lead. It only takes a second for something to happen. If someone took her for safekeeping why haven't they come forward yet?
I hope for Tess and her owner's sake she is found safe and well.
Please if anyone has information come forward!

Do you not think your comment is very insensitive regarding keeping you dog in sight when Tess is a guide dog?
For Confused, please do not muddy this thread.
In no way was I trying to be insensitive, it is very difficult to use a word which someone like you may think offends someone who is visually impaired. I was trying to highlight to anyone who has a dog that they should keep a look out when their dogs are off the lead as there may be some unscrupulous people out there.
If someone has taken Tess (for whatever reason) I would appeal for them to do the right thing and return her immediately to her owner.
This is what is important.
Tess is not a golden retriever, she is a black curly haired retriever
Thanks for that Yvonnec, have change the text I copied and pasted from STV site - at least their video shows what Tess looks like.
Absolutely...always someone pulling out the discrimination card...you made a very valid point which as you said was muddied by a pointless remark
