Our Riverside correspondent Murd Dunbar came across this impressive jobbie this morning on the riverside path. If dog owners have to pick up the mess their animals leave behind then shouldn't those in charge of horses have to make the same effort if they use the riverside paths? Time for the doggie jobbie warden to step up and take in the next size too?

Taking A horse down by the river side is not on.{ In fact I don't think it is allowed} the fact some people are terrified of horses and to meet one when out for a quite walk on the river side especially with children. Can you imagine how that would feel.

Is it really necessary to post offending pictures of feces!! I came across this post just as i was sitting down to a big plate of stovies, which took me hours to make, slaving away over a hot stove.
I had just sat down, big dollop of steaming stovie's on the plate with a couple of Oatcakes sticking out, when low and behold up pops Murd's Turd pic.
Needless to say after turning somewhat green and wrenching the stovies were duly turfed out to the gulls.
Never has my flaber been so ghasted at such filth.
Please in future consider wisely before printing any more Turdgate stories.

this really bugs the likes of me who is a very considerate dog owner , no-one hates picking the stuff up more than me , but i also don't like or would expect anyone to stand on my dogs jobbies , you will never find me without a pocket full of dog bags with me at all times when i am out with the dog, The Dog warden never seems to be in the right place at the right time, the only place i have really only seen her van parked up is down at the links carpark , the worst place i see everyday when i walk through with my dog is the Showfield and i keep a particularly close eye on him in there having consideration for the footballers, thewarden should hide in about there and im sure she will catch a few offenders in there , yours barkingly , stephen smerdon

Well Nenenanooo my post did some good the gardeners got fertilizer for the roses. Seagulls got fed and you were saved from putting on weight. It's an ill wind that blows no good

re the comment about people being terrified of horses, lol. How many people other than riders are injured in horse incidents. Horses do not unpredictably attack children or other dogs.
I am a very responsible dog owner and respect the use of the path by all parties.

I'm a cyclist and I often use the cycle path alongside the river Nairn. I can't tell you as to how often I've been attacked/harassed by dogs over the past few years
The reaction by owners is mixed. Laugh, 'ha ha he won't hurt you' meanwhile the dog has it's jaws around my ankle

Frantic. Here (dog's name) and within seconds you realise that this owner in common with many others has no control over their dog

Ok what did they do in the days of the horse and cart?? There must have been loads of POO, and gardens with beautiful roses. Lets face it the riverside is not covered in horse poo and to go around taking photos of it smacks of someone needing something to do. If I was a lone woman walker I would be afraid, if not bewildered of a man with a camera taking photos of POO!!
Dog walkers for the sake of everyone's insanity pick up the poo. Horse riders for the sake of safety stick to open spaces and pick up your poo as there is money to be made with that.
