Wow, this gives a whole different perspective to the Fishertown. Makes you realise how densely packed together the houses are. It also makes you realise the extent of the building that has gone on down Lochloy Road.

ReplyDeleteThey seem to be pretty silent to this observer anon and individually will probably make far less noise than just one of the many thousands of cars, lorries and other vehicles that use Nairn roads every day.
ReplyDeleteYes, but the cars, lorries etc will not disturb the peace on beach, riverside walks or such spots we currently use to escape all the current noise pollution.
ReplyDeleteSome are quiet, some less so. And the many thousands of cars lorries etc you mention do not have access to our beaches, riverside paths and other areas we seek out for peace and quiet. There are already plenty of tales about irresponsible use of drones - what will Murd's riverside horse drop if buzzed by one of these?

ReplyDeleteThe problem with drones is privacy or rather lack of it. At the moment anyone can fly one and apart from airports there are little or no restrictions
ReplyDeleteGoogle at least obscure faces and number plates but I doubt many drone operators will do the same with their images/videos
We already live in what is arguably a Police state when it comes to privacy, fascinating as some drone footage is should be welcome this personal invasion

ReplyDeleteAnyone concerned by these should peruse articles 166 and 167 of the air navigation order. They are classed as small aircraft and certainly are regulated.
ReplyDeleteWhat next? Will all the doom & glooom merchants be banning anyone with a camera or a video? Like in all walks of life some people can be irresponsible, eg the ones who don't pick up their horse or dog sh*t, but not everyone is like that. Personally I think the footage is very interesting and as anon @12.31 says it provides a different perspective not often seen. As long as the drone operator is not buzzing horses or little old biddies, good on him. I would love to see some similar images of other parts of the town.
