"The regeneration of high streets and town centres remains a high priority for the Scottish Government. DTAS secured funding from Scottish Government for a number of pilots, and through its DTAS membership NICE has secured a grant of £10,000 from Scottish Government to drive the Town Centre Plan forward. NICE will be working with its partners to use this money to best effect, and initial meetings have taken place with a view to developing an action plan. NICE will make a further statement when this has happened. NICE is also involved in several other community initiatives, and will be making further announcements as they come to fruition."

add that £10,000 to the £25,000 sainsburys donated, and that should improve high street a lot.
narook.
Ive heard they are taking bets at the bookies as to what they will spend the money on.
Although the sum of £10,000 is most welcome it just isn`t enough to do much is it?
So, It`s time that the shops & whoever owns the buildings above them took more care of their properties. One building in particular is an utter disgrace.
Take a look @ Forres high street, the shop owners & those that own the buildings seem to have pride in their high street! ....... Nairn High street could be so much nicer it really could!
Will they employ a consultant now?
I fully expect the £10K to be spent on some nice drawings and artistic impressions of what Nairn could look like if they had millions to spend, so nothing will of note will happen
@ Narook - it might be better if you were to say that you hope the 10K doesn't get spent on expenses whilst deciding what to do with it :-)
@anon 11.22 Sometimes we do edit comments/submissions for various reasons. The same sort of thing can happen with letters to newspapers etc.

Well, you completely removed my reply to your post above, please tell me why you did that!
What`s the point of having a comment section when you just remove part/whole posts? there was nothing abusive in my original post only facts!!
Not all comments are posted anon. It is completely at our discretion whether comments are posted or not. Sorry if you are dissatisfied with that but that is the way it is.
