"I think everyone was looking forward to seeing the Rosebank church building operational again and we were watching with interest as work progressed, so this news is the last thing we would all want to hear. I understand that the council are cooperating with 1st Steps Childcare ltd to ensure that they can continue to provide local childcare and that is to be welcomed. I will offer to meet with 1st Steps to see how I can help and with local councillors and local MSP Fergus Ewing to examine how we can work together to determine both a secure future for 1st steps childcare and a future use for the building"

Devastated! I was really looking forward to the new childcare facility. It is much needed with private childcare at capacity mostly and no where for under two's, no breakfast or after school club. Very sad news for the community and the building. Now stuck for childcare in the new year 😒
Nothing surprise's me anymore with Nairn, it's a complete mess regarding empty building's here and there, the only asset is the beach and harbour area. Such a quaint old town that could have so much more to offer. Don't get me wrong the high street has had it's ups and downs over the years it's improving a bit more nowadays, but would 100% agree with Kim shepherds comment above, after all our kid's are our future. Gurn over
There is an after school club in Nairn.
Sorry, Unknown@9.56pm, but how has the current situation with this building actually got to do with Nairn as a town? It is a private development which appears to be owned by a private developer and was (according to the press release) to be rented by a private company to run their business from.
If the listed status planning controls make the building undevelopable you wonder whether the listed status is really serving society.
flatten the bloody thing, for far too long has it been empty/sold/resold/developed/failed,its just a white elephant.get rid of it,and make a nice garden area with seating for all to enjoy, anything would be better than throwing money at this monstrosity
narook.
