Michale Boylan of the Association of Nairn Businesses tells the Gurn that the original plan was that was that we would have two clear weeks in the High St and now we have four. He said:
"I’m just off the phone to SGN who have confirmed that they are finished with the High street works for this year recommencing 5th January 2016. I’ve asked for the signage to be removed and this should be done by tomorrow! No disruption for the last month of the year! Great news"

Hope SGN are going to finish the job properly the resurfacing they have done so far is awful.
just leave it totally pedestrianised !
Ha ha, signs were still up but many vehicles were using the High St as per normal just now. Thanks for the tip off Mr Gurn ;-)
Pedestrianised ! And how pray tell would shops get deliveries. ...

Just like many pedestrianised shopping areas delivery vehicles would be given access at certain times of day
@rocketscience Why close off another route when there are few enough roads to get around Nairn as it is. Pedestrianizing High Street will just bottle neck traffic elsewhere.
