Received the following information and poster from a Police Scotland rep, they are leading the Community Partnership and have set up the survey. Over the years surveys and consultations have come and gone and then we usually get what out of town officials and organisations think fit for us, subsequently consultation almost became a four letter word. Perhaps in this age where localism and Community Empowerment are the buzz words emerging from Holyrood and Glenurquhart Road we will perhaps finally see the authorities getting down to tackling what the community deems to be the priorities. With that in mind please give the survey a go if you have the time. Link to survey here, poster and further information below:
"Background - The Nairn and Nairnshire Community Partnership has been established following the introduction of the Community Empowerment Act 2015. This act is designed to empower community bodies by stengthening their voices in decisions that matter to them. This means everyone can get involved and help made important decisions.
The aim of the partnership is to identify and address things that need to change, and we are speaking to the communities of Nairn and Nairnshire to identify their needs and priorites.
Our objective is to ensure that the areas requiring support are identifed and that plans are put in place to address the issues raised."
