We hear that there is no money but....
The Press and Journal reported yesterday: "Highland councillors agreed to spend up to £15,000 with a recruitment agency to help them find a depute chief executive with a salary of £119,000.
Councillors agreed to look for a depute chief executive with responsibility for corporate resources, at a special meeting held yesterday.
Some councillors expressed concerns about the recruitment process and the job description, as it did not include the remit for finance, that the previous director had responsibility for."
Disgraceful!
ReplyDeleteAs that old song went - "when will they ever learn, when will they ever learn", in the meantime toilets are shut and car parking charges still hover over Nairn town.
ReplyDeleteWhat is wrong with adverts in the Dailies or on line and a senior person sifting through the applications, just like most firm being careful of the bottom line would!
Grhhhh………….
The more I see and hear about the Highland Council the more I wonder what some of the officials are actually paid for? Is there no one within Highland Council capable of carrying out these tasks? A recent report in the P&J stated that over the last 6 years the council have forked out over £37 million on consultancy fees, again what are some of the officials paid for?
ReplyDeleteAssuming one of the reasons for using external agencies is to get the best person for the job makes you wonder if it's money well spent?
What a farce! Are the officials not capable of doing anything?
