Paul Oldham, I understand, is going to vote to approve the Inner Moray Firth Local Development Plan at the Nairnshire Area Committee Meeting which will be held on Tuesday morning at 10.30am. If the other three Councillors do the same , this means another 1000 houses for Nairn East.
What Mr. Oldham is saying in his newsletter is nonsense. At a Public Meeting in the Community Centre on Thursday evening, approximately a hundred and twenty people voted to say that the IMFLDP should be delayed until there is a Local Place Plan on the table! Our community deserves to have a say in local planning under the Community Empowerment Act.
The argument is actually a bit more nuanced than that as far as I can see Richard and all about the best way to avoid over-development before infrastructure is in. No doubt Paul and his colleagues will explain their position.
